Paper & Stationery Samachar Magazine got the opportunity to use and feel the Rolls-Royce of CHALKS. If ever chalks could be categorised just like cars, then HAGOROMO chalks would be considered as the Rolls-Royce.
HAGOROMO chalks were first manufactured in Japan the formula had been maintained for the past three generations. The users of this chalk included professors and teachers of some of the most reputed Colleges and Institutes around the world. These professors have been such ardent users of this chalk that they literally started hoarding lots of HAGOROMO when they knew the manufacturer was closing down and the chalks would no longer be available in the market. Yet Hyeong-Seok Shin, CEO of SEJONGMALL Co. Ltd. Korea who turned out to be a rescuer of this cult chalk. We look forward to seeing the chalk in the Indian Market soon.

Sofia Lee, a young Product Designer from Hong Kong showed us- MAGCON, an innovative compass. To describe it in her own words “the most versatile drawing tool”. MagCon, the compass has a cylindrical metal center piece that works as an axis without poking any hole in the paper. MAGCON comes in 2 different sizes of the package containing 2 and 3 attachments respectively. Two of these are scales of different sizes with precisely printed measurements. The other one is a curvy stencil containing different shapes and patterns. These scales and stencils cling to the centrepiece with a strong magnetic force.

“My company is a distributor and direct supplier of office, school and gift stationery and this is my fourth time visiting the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair. To build new relationships, product quality, passion and enthusiasm are important to me and I am pleased to have found these qualities from exhibitors at the fair. I am very interested in four Mainland Chinese manufacturers of niche items such as specially designed school bags and white board stickers. I have also been pleased to find eco-friendly items such as water bottles at the Fair – this is a market trend that cannot be ignored”
Anil Nair, Director, First Choice Stationery L.L.C, UAE |
“This is my first visit to the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair and I am very impressed. The fair is remarkably well organised in comparison to other similar fairs. Our company focuses on paper and plastic-based products such as notebooks and binders. I am here to explore new business opportunities, gain insights from the market, and, most importantly, find quality suppliers. I have connected with more than 25 companies so far and arranged some meetings with professional exhibitors from Korea, Mainland China, Thailand and more. The fair is an excellent gateway for generating business, especially for the Asia Pacific market. I think green stationery is the dominant market trend arising from global environmental issues. Overall, I am delighted with the fair and I hope its excellent performance will continue in the future editions.”

“Diakakis Imports is a retailer of all kinds of back to school items, including backpacks, pencil cases, water bottles, lunchboxes and more. We have been exhibiting at the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair for seven years, with an increased booth size for the past five editions. We continue to exhibit at the Fair because it connects us with potential clients from Asian countries such as the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan. These are markets that are very difficult for us to reach from Europe. This year we are presenting our new 2020 backpack collection and so far we have made around 100 trade contacts. Most of the contacts are retailers and buyers from store chains, supermarkets or toy stores. We will confirm an order soon and we are confident that we will be able to seal many more orders after the fair. We will be back again next year.”
Sofia Diakakis, Product Manager, Diakakis Imports SA, Greece (Booth: 5B-B22) |
“We are exhibiting at the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair for the fourth time because we have met many good buyers here. We want to expand our business into overseas markets, and in particular we are trying to meet distributors, agents, bookstores chains, schools and academies. At the fair we are able to meet visitors from India, Thailand and European countries such as the Netherlands and Hungary. Our new paper blackboard set has been very popular with visitors this year. In the past two days, we have met with around 100 visitors and received quite a lot of traffic at our booth. The Fair is an important industry event that helps us to increase our brand exposure. It is also a good channel for us to meet with our existing clients.”
Hyeong-seok Shin, CEO, SEJONGMALL CO., LTD, Korea (Booth: 5B-D05) |
