PUGNALE EYEWEAR Booth: GH-E36 The eyewear created by "Pugnale Eyewear" is a special mix between high tech, fashion, luxury and design. The aim of the brand is to approach the market in an alternative way, in order to place the brand as a unique and exclusive - but always in coherence with fashion design.
Founded by Emanuele Pugnale - the creative and stylistic soul of all glasses and collections – in 2013, the brand represents a unique know-how and approach that brings together the excellences of Italian manufacturing tradition.
The uses of innovative techniques and materials are the bases to create this excellence in the Made in Italy eyewear market. The use of industrial laminates that turned in exclusive and elegant surfaces - combined with fabrics and precious materials - leads to the creation of eyewear collections that are unique for a contemporary and exclusive luxury - covered by a World patent in 2017.

"Optik Ganesha is a wholesaler and retailer of optical frames in Indonesia which has five optical stores. Since 2016, I have been visiting the Hong Kong International Optical Fair every year. It is a good place for me to look for new brands and new suppliers which offer very good products. At this year's fair, I have placed an order for 3,000 pieces of reading glasses with a new supplier. I have found five potential suppliers of optical frames and plan to buy 300-500 pieces from each new supplier. I have also identified a potential supplier of contact lenses from Korea through the HKTDC's business matching meeting and collected some samples. Hong Kong is a safe place to do business."
David Pratama Siddi, Director, Optik Ganesha, Indonesia |
"Founded by my father 29 years ago, Optilent has five optical stores in Argentina which sell top-quality and high-class optical frames. We are going to expand our wholesale business by offering budget-priced optical frames under our own brand. This is our first time visiting the Hong Kong International Optical Fair to look for optical frames. Up till now, we have found at least 10 potential OEM suppliers which are very good in terms of their quality, reliability and prices. We'll select two to three new suppliers and place orders worth US$50,000-70,000 in total. We are also very interested in a French brand which offers top quality and innovative designs. As this brand does not have any distributor in Argentina, we'll have further negotiations with the brand owner. We like the Hong Kong fair very much because it offers a wide variety of optical frames. There are protests in South America almost every day. Despite the protests in Hong Kong, we are not afraid of coming here to do business. It is very safe in Hong Kong and the fair is very well-organised."

“We officially launched our virtual eyewear try-on and online sales service based on AI and 3D real models this month. As this new service allows customers to try on different optical frames virtually, it can help online stores to boost their sales. The virtual eyewear try-on service can also be used in physical stores, so store owners do not need to keep a lot of stocks in their stores, helping to reduce inventory, display and operational costs as well as rental charges. We are exhibiting in the Hong Kong International Optical Fair for the first time because we want to introduce our new service to brand owners, chain store operators and online store owners. It is a very international optical fair where we can meet with buyers from all over the world. Five brand owners from Mainland China and Southeast Asia have confirmed to sign distributorship agreements with our company. More than 10 brand owners and manufacturers from Australia, Israel, Mainland China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and the US have asked us to develop customised platforms for them. It is a rewarding experience. We’ll definitely return to the fair next year. Our colleagues in Hong Kong told us that Hong Kong is a safe place and the Hong Kong fair provides an excellent opportunity to promote our new service, so we never think of withdrawing from the fair.”

"Launched 11 years ago, LEIX is our own eyewear brand characterised by fashionable and colourful designs that targets young people. Our products are sold in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Southeast Asia and Taiwan. This is our second time participating in the Brand Name Gallery of the Hong Kong International Optical Fair. Every year, the Brand Name Gallery gathers many brands from all over the world, attracting a lot of attention from international buyers. We hope to develop new markets such as Australia and Canada through the fair. We have met with new buyers from Australia, Iran , Israel, Southeast Asia and Taiwan and received onsite orders from more than 20 existing and new buyers. Each order size ranges from 400 to 3,000 pieces. The business results have exceeded our expectations. The Hong Kong fair is very international, so we'll definitely come back next year. Although there are social events in Hong Kong, the situation here is not that worse. Our business has not been affected at all."

Hear What Symposium Attendees Say |
“I attended the Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium because it is a COPE accredited continuing education class. There is no better place to be when I want to attend a one-stop event that brings together an international team of exhibitors boasting their latest optometric instruments and designs. I’m also looking for products that are suitable for primary eye care examinations for the needy. We provide out-of-office examinations in places such as community centres, schools, and nursing home settings. Thus, product portability, its quality design and pricing are some factors that affect my interest when scanning around the exhibition areas. Majority of exhibitors usually take bulk orders from buyers/distributors. But this is a good chance for me to look and appreciate all the unique products from different ophthalmic suppliers across Asia and be able to get a hands-on evaluation whether their products and designs meet the future global eye care needs for optometrists serving various parts of our communities.”
Dr Lily Chan, Clinical Associate, School of Optometry, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University |
