“Nanovista products are designed to be indestructible and colourful, perfect for the kids of all ages. The Custom Fit Collection goes beyond imagination and creates 100% adjustable glasses that fit every kind of shape and size of the face. The nose bridge is also adaptable and the materials used are 100% kids safe. These amazing designs allow children to have fun while wearing glasses and the parents can get a break because Nanovista models are unbreakable. https://nano-vista.com

Etnia Barcelona showcases The David Bowie Collection, which pays a tribute to the iconic singer. The details reminiscent of him are the key of the trendy proposal: the rebel lightning bolt in the front of the sun designs remarks the timeless star symbol. Meanwhile, the glowing glitter in the front recreates the universe of the star, always shiny and creative. The brand has worked hard to get the license of the David Bowie name, as they have been taking care of each detail with the family of the singer in order to approach his universe as closer as possible. https://www.etniabarcelona.com/

Coco Song just celebrated the second edition of the Coco Song Awards, in collaboration with the Harim Accademia Euromediterranea. The winner is named The Golden Temple, a design from Francesca Cannella, inspired in the Song dynasty. Its silk inserts pay homage to the classic material in the Ancient China and creates a unique texture with glamour, elegance and appealing. The brand philosophy remains present along the design, that has been selected between more than 50 projects from the Accademia students. These awards look to promote the young talent while working very close with the designers in order to create unique and exclusive sunglasses that enhances the Coco Song style, a brand from Area98. https://cocosong.it/.”

“The international eyewear company, MIGA has released this state-of-the art mono block titanium design – with a classic round shape combined with 3-dimensional elements on the rims. The effect is bold, confident, and experimental – in keeping with the frame’s superb name! Based in Hong Kong, and producing their frames in Japan and Italy, MIGA Studios works in a variety of materials including stainless steel, titanium, aluminium and acetate. Their special quality: Always expect the unexpected here! www.migaeyewear.com

Vanni Re-mix is VANNI’s sunglass collection for women, the result of a collaboration with the jewellery and accessory design course at the European Institute of Design in Turin, Italy and a competition they ran for third year students. The winning design (pictured) – by Matteo Bagna – integrates 3 shapes – the cat eye, the round shape and an oversized 70s look with originality and flair. Produced in acetate, there are now three spectacular versions in the line with colours including classic and amber tortoiseshell with inlays in black, white, Bordeaux or blue. Their special quality: Pure Italian design with a chic finish! www.vanniocchiali.com

Sunglasses at Morel – the French company from the Jura - are sophisticated in style for the season ahead. Model Morel 80025A provides feminine proportions, a modified cat’s eye inspired shape – a look that is currently the height of fashion – and has an interesting overlapping effect where the UV protective lenses peep out behind the frame itself. A gold anti-reflective coating on the lenses is designed to provide comfort throughout the day. Their special quality: Statement styling with technical precision! www.morel-france.com

Hear What Buyers Say

“Joy Company is a wholesaler of optical frames and sunglasses in Egypt. Apart from Chinese eyewear brands, we are also selling optical frames and sunglasses under our own brand. We plan to develop new markets for our own brand. This is my fifth time visiting the Hong Kong International Optical Fair to look for OEM suppliers and ready-made products. So far, I have found three potential suppliers, but I’ll look for more potential suppliers in the next two days. I’ll confirm my orders with different suppliers for a total of 10,000 pieces on the last day of the fair. I like this fair very much because I can find new suppliers which offer good prices, good quality and good designs. There are many protests in Egypt which are more violent than those in Hong Kong. The protests in Hong Kong do not affect my decision to come here. I feel safe in Hong Kong.
Affat Eid, Owner, Joy Company, Egypt
“We operate two shops in Spain, selling eyewear under more than 100 fashion brands from all over the world, and we have two own brands. This is our first time visiting the Hong Kong International Optical Fair. We are looking for new brands and OEM suppliers at the fair. Up till now, we have found two to three potential business partners from Asia who offer new brands or OEM service. We plan to buy 10,000 pieces for different models from a new OEM supplier. We love the Hong Kong fair because we have found new designs which are very fashionable. We would like to come back next year. There are protests in Spain from time to time. We are not afraid of coming to Hong Kong although we have heard about the protests in this city. We feel the city is safe and very clean.

“Our company was founded by a US audio engineer and two Hong Kong eyewear designers including myself. Last year, we launched our OSSII SOUND brand and our first product called Connector, which is a perfect combination of professional eyewear and a truly wireless Bluetooth, open-ear audio device. As Connector is fully adjustable and interchangeable, it can fit different head shapes. This innovative product has won a silver award at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva this year. This is our first time participating in the Hong Kong International Optical Fair. Our main goals are to look for new distributors and to introduce this new product to international buyers. We have met with new buyers from Canada, India, Japan, Korea, Thailand and the US who are very interested in this innovative product. Up till now, about eight to nine buyers have bought our samples for further testing. We are very satisfied with the results so far and we’ll return to the fair next year.
Johnnie Li, Co-founder, Zmart Concept Ltd (OSSII SOUND), Hong Kong (booth: GH-R03)
“We have two brands, namely Black Label and William Morris London. Black Label is more high-end and more fashionable while William Morris London is conservatively different and sells at premium prices. Our main markets include the UK, France, Germany, Italy and the US. We are keen to look for distributors especially from Asia and to understand the Asian market through our third-time participation in the Hong Kong International Optical Fair. We are highlighting the William Morris Gallery Collection by William Morris London which was launched in September this year. This new collection represents the collaboration between me and William Morris, a famous UK textile designer during the Victorian period. I have applied his textile prints to this new collection. The Gallery Collection and Black Label have attracted a lot of interest from buyers. We have met with new buyers from our target markets such as Hong Kong, Japan, Mainland China and Taiwan including two potential distributors from Japan and Mainland China. We’ll definitely come back next year. I am not afraid of coming to Hong Kong because Hong Kong is still a safe place to do business.”
