“Established in 2012, ROKIT Healthcare develops and manufactures 3D bio printing-based organ regenerative medicine in Korea. It can be applied not only to dermal regeneration for scar removal, burns and diabetic foot ulcers but also to cartilage regeneration for degenerative osteoarthritis. This is our first-time participation in the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair. Our main goal is to look for distributors, university researchers and business partners from hospitals. Our booth is always crowded with buyers who are distributors, doctors and researchers and we have been busy answering their enquiries. A lot of buyers from Europe, Hong Kong, Mainland China, the Philippines and Taiwan are interested in this future technology. It is a successful show. We’ll be back next year.”

“I have been visiting the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair for two years. The biggest trend I see is a shift from large items such as automatic wheelchairs to more high-tech products, including ICT and products that link up with smart phones. Exhibitors tell me they consider Hong Kong to be Asia’s business hub, so this is a good platform to show their new items to buyers from different parts of the world. New exhibitors can find many business opportunities at the fair. Another trend is products targeting the elderly. The OphthoLens is a compact, ultra-wide field ophthalmoscope developed by Rainsoptics Limited [Booth: 3F-D23C] capable of imaging the human retina with a smartphone. It is easy to operate and to carry – useful for elderly or disabled people who may have difficulty of getting to a hospital or clinic. Patients can even carry out self-examination.”

Every year we import the latest equipment from around the world and the fair provides an ideal platform for us to introduce our latest medical devices and rehabilitation equipment. At this year’s fair, we have experts coming from Australia, Finland and Korea to demonstrate how to use the devices in a proper way. Our booth has attracted a lot of buyers who are keen to learn more about the latest products for the medical and healthcare industry. We have received onsite orders mainly from Asian buyers.”

“Our company is a long-term exhibitor of the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair. As our sales turnover at last year’s fair rose by 20-30%, we have increased the number of our booths from four to seven. At this year’s fair, we are showcasing our latest products under five specialty categories, namely Therapeutic and Rehabilitation Equipment, Professional Diagnostic & Respiratory Therapy Equipment, Nursing and Mobility Supplies, Orthopedic Support Products and Consumer Health Products. The fair provides a good opportunity for us to showcase our latest products, look for new buyers and foster relationships with our existing customers. Our physiotherapy equipment is well-liked by buyers. Up till now, we have received more than 50 orders for different products. We are happy with the results so far.”

“The ongoing HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair 2019 displays state-of-the-art medical technology and devices from across the globe, making it unmissable for players in this booming industry. Organised by HKTDC at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event features 285 exhibitors from eight countries and regions.
There’s plenty to see, and here are a few highlights that stood out for me on Day 1. Time synchronisation is crucial in healthcare facilities, and Hong Kong-based ACCUE Co. Ltd [Booth: 3F-F29] produces Wi-Fi-enabled clocks that deliver reliable, accurate and harmonised timekeeping systems.
Plasma technology specialist Plasmapp Co., Ltd. [Booth: 3F-A08] of Korea is showcasing the Sterlink Mini low-temperature plasma steriliser said to deliver the world's first four-minute, pouch-type sterilisation.
A lab on your smartphone? It’s true: the 1drop series from Korean startup 1 Drop Inc. [Booth: 3F-A06] is an in-vitro diagnostic test kit that uses a commercial smartphone and plasma-separating cartridges to measure haemoglobin, blood glucose, uric acid and cholesterol within 10-15 seconds.
Janley Ltd [Booth: 3F-F04] is displaying MOTOmed devices that help in movement therapy using passive, motor-assisted, and active-resistive modes.
In addition, the seminars on “Biomedical Technologies that are Changing Healthcare” and “Outlook of the Medical and Healthcare Industry and Latest Medtech Innovations” enthralled audiences with quality information.”

Buyer’s Feedback |

“Based in India, Cygnus has 10 hospitals while Meddo operates 100 clinics. Due to a huge population, the market demand for India’s medical service and device industry is around US$160 billion. To meet an increasing demand for medical services, I am going to increase the number of Meddo clinics to 5,000 in the next four years. This is my first time visiting the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair. I am looking for point-of-care diagnostic devices, clinical instrument and home care products for the elderly. I have met with up to 40 suppliers and shortlisted around five potential suppliers from Hong Kong. I plan to buy at least 100 sets of clinical instrument, 200 sets of automatic blood pressure monitors, 100 sets of small diagnostic machines and five sets of large diagnostic machines from three Hong Kong suppliers. I like the fair because I can meet with a lot of innovative exhibitors and find a great variety of medical and healthcare devices.”
Dr. Naveen Nishchal, Co-founder, Meddo and Cygnus, India

“Habitz Medtech supplies physiotherapy devices and occupational therapy devices to hospitals in Taiwan. I have decided to visit the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair because our Hong Kong suppliers are exhibiting at the fair. At the HKSTP pavilion, I have found innovative products such as rehabilitation robots and VR for body movement training. Up till now, I have found six to ten potential suppliers. I have brought samples of neck traction devices and TENS devices worth up to US$600 from a Hong Kong supplier and plan to buy US$1,800 worth of acupuncture devices and vein diagnostic devices from a Mainland China supplier for further testing. I also like the Startup zone because it is a good place for me to see new technologies. I am interested in P4 test provided by a startup in Hong Kong.”
