“Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 21st edition of the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) 2019, taking place between 27-30 October, is one of the world’s largest trade shows. The prolific magnitude of the show is apparent with one step into The Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre where the event takes place.
Obviously, there are some fantastic and innovative products on display. Among them are OSRAM, Prosperity Group’s new Chronogy light treatment glasses, the next step in human centric lighting (Booth: 1CON-003). Panasonic’s bluetooth spotlight featuring aluminium heatsink for lower energy consumption (Booth: 1CON-020). Another edition to the human centric lighting market is Shenzhen Ewinlight Technology’s EWINDOW designed to provide the effect of real sky and clouds indoors (Booth: CR-C05).

“With over 400 exhibitors from 4 countries and regions, HKTDC’s Hong Kong International Outdoor &Tech Light Expo taking place at the AsiaWorld-Expo from 29th October to 1st November featuring the latest product trends in outdoor area and street lighting.
The majority of the exhibitors are in the outdoor and public lighting space, it also features products tailored for horticulture, exterior lighting and solutions, technical and professional, as well as outdoor advertising sectors of the industry.
A pertinent trend in Canada is the introduction of IoT lighting control into street lighting space, along with smart poles. Prominent in European and Asian markets, smart poles have yet to be firmly established in the Canadian marketplace. However, the need is beginning to present itself as municipalities look to cut operating costs and carbon emissions by increasing efficiency.
AOK Industrial’s SE Bificial Solar Street Light is a product that could be useful as a complementary option in this space (Booth: 10-C05). The bificial technology increases the efficiency and efficacy, making it a practical solar option. Another interesting option in the street lighting space is the Ligman Lighting L-Column Smart Pole (Booth: 8-E02). Its features are beyond illumination, for example, the EV Charging port could be beneficial as Canada looks to fill out its EV charging infrastructure.
In the sport lighting space, Yaham Optoelectronics’s Compact High Mast Light presents some interesting options that could be useful in the Canadian market (Booth: 8-B10).” |
