Exquisite Jewellery Design |
Beyond timeless elegance and opulent beauty, the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show is also a festival of creativity and boundless talent. Turning precious raw materials into singular works of art, exceptional designers channel their vision and aesthetic sensibilities into scintillating pieces that capture the imagination. Explore a world of glamour and prestige with visionary masterpieces from across the globe at this incomparable industry event. |
ARTRIUM (Hall 3E entrance) |
Curated by Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group, ARTRIUM is an exclusive private showroom that makes its stunning debut at the Jewellery Show this year. Discover a world of prestigious concepts from elite curators, and take in a preview item of ARTRIUM’s Fantastical Creatures collection – Fantasia, a unique unicorn display at the entrance of Hall 3E. The unicorn is beyond an art piece, it is a symbol of power, beauty and myth that inspires the rest of the collection. |

|
Fantasia
Material: Fire Opal, Diamonds, 24K Yellow Gold, 18K White Gold, Petrified Wood
Deep within the forest, a glimmer of fiery light reveals Fantasia, the muse for ARTRIUM’s Fantastical Creatures collection. Perched atop a petrified wood base, this one-of-a-kind unicorn features brushed textures like tangled silk in 24-carat gold, and a strong chiselled profile. At the crown, a naturally-formed 106.94-carat Mexican fire opal glistens with iridescent colours and dozens of white diamonds. With its dramatic stature, Fantasia becomes a symbol of power, beauty and myth, inspiring a whole new world of imaginary creatures. |
Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition |
Now in its 20th edition, the Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition recognises local designs of superb craftsmanship and creativity. Organised by the HKTDC, the Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China Ltd, the competition embraces the theme of “Be Connected, Be United” this year. Contestants used the Belt and Road initiative and the launch of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link as inspiration, channelling collaborative cultural exchange and infrastructural concepts into their distinguished jewellery pieces.
A total of 197 entries were assessed and the winners were announced at a press conference. The winning creations are being showcased at Hall 1D Concourse. |

“I am honoured to be one of the judges for the Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition for the second time. I fully support the competition because it encourages original designs. This year’s competition received close to 200 entries in the Open Group and Student Group. During the first round of judging, I was highly impressed by the quality of drawings submitted by the contestants. More than 20 finalists presented their designs in finished products which truly reflect the theme ‘Be Connected, Be United’ at the second round of judging. The winning designs demonstrate boundless creativity, fine craftsmanship and high aesthetic value. One of the impressive winning designs is ‘Enjoy’, featuring miniatures of Chinese and western tableware, which showcases impeccable craftsmanship and signifies how sincere cooperation can help to create a win-win situation.”
Victor Yiu, Director, Brilliant Trading Company (1974) Ltd., Hong Kong

“This is my first time being one of the judges for the Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition. The competition helps to develop young design talent. It also provides an ideal platform for students and designers to exude their creativity and get their designs promoted across the community. I am happy to see that the quality of this year’s entries is very high. Contestants have used different ideas to interpret the theme ‘Be Connected, Be United’ in their designs which turn out to be very creative. I like the brooch called ‘We are ONE’, which features the elegance of movements of fishes. This winning design is the perfect blend of creativity and craftsmanship.”

“About 450 independent jewellery stores across Australia and New Zealand are members of the Nationwide Jewellers buying group. These stores are able to offer their customers exceptional quality and value due to the immense buying power of the Nationwide Jewellers group. This is the sixth time that National Jewellers has organised a buying delegation to visit the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show. We have led 20 stores to visit this year’s show. We have prepared in advance a list of suppliers which can offer us better prices, and our stores will check out their products. After consolidating the orders of our stores, we’ll contact the suppliers and place orders. Over the last two years, more stores want to come to the show because the MOQ is much lower. It is good for our stores to come here because they can find what they need and also know more about the global jewellery trends.”
Niven McArthur, Director – Merchandise & Marketing, Nationwide Jewellers, Australia

“Diamonds Direct operates 17 stores in the US, selling diamond jewellery, precious stone jewellery and loose diamonds. Currently, engagement rings and wedding bands represent 90% of our business and we have 5,000 different styles for customers to choose from. This is my first-time visit to the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show. I am looking for something different for our stores. The twin shows are overwhelming and amazing with lots of suppliers from different countries. Up till now, I have made 50 new contacts. I’ll consider doing business with three potential suppliers of diamond engagement rings and wedding bands and five potential suppliers of loose diamonds. I hope to develop long-term partnerships with them. Initially, I plan to buy US$10,000 worth of loose diamonds.”
Lou Verde, General Manager, Diamonds Direct, the United States

“Established in 1956, our company is a jewellery manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer in Canada. I started to visit the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show four to five years ago and our purchasing amount at the two shows has been increasing every year. At this year’s Jewellery Show, I have already placed orders for US$10,000 worth of jewellery displays from a Mainland China supplier and US$10,000 worth of jewellery boxes from a Hong Kong supplier. I am also interested in jewellery machinery suppliers. At the Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, I bought US$60,000 worth of precious stones and pearls. I am happy to come to the two shows because the two shows form the world’s largest jewellery marketplace where I can meet with different suppliers and discover cheaper prices and quality products.”
Richard Perrier, Co-owner, Jules Perrier Artisan Inc, Canada

“In business for almost 50 years, Kuwayama operates four factories, including one in Japan, two in Mainland China and one in Thailand. We mainly produce wedding bands, machine-made chains and fashion jewellery. Platinum and rose gold wedding bands are our best sellers in Hong Kong and Mainland China. We have been exhibiting at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show for many years because it is a good place for us to find new customers and to show our new products to existing customers. At this year’s Jewellery Show, we have made new contacts with buyers from India, Mainland China, Southeast Asia and the US. Seven of our existing customers have placed onsite orders. So it is important for us to maintain our presence at this show.”
Mitch Yoshida, Deputy Chief General Manager, Sales Section, Kuwayama International Co., Ltd, Japan (Booth No.: CEC 3B-E08)

“Inspired by famous architecture in the world and the nature, I have 30 years of experience in designing and making 14K and 18K gold jewellery. I decided to exhibit at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show for the first time because the show gathers buyers from all over the world and it provides a good opportunity for me to learn more about the Asian market. I have brought to the show my main collection – Netline. This collection includes earrings, necklaces, pendants and rings. Buyers like my designs because they are very contemporary and new. I have talked to new buyers from France, Japan, Mainland China, Malaysia, the Philippines and the UK. Buyers from Malaysia and the Philippines are very serious and I expect them to come back to place orders during the show period.”

“WCJ launched its own brand – AQUEEN in 2012. Initially, we sold AQUEEN products to Mainland China only. We started to promote this brand to overseas buyers in 2017. We think that young people who like digital social media could be our customers, so we have added youthful elements to the three core series under the AQUEEN brand – Life, Love and Style. Our core series now target consumers aged from 20 to 50. The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show provides an important sales channel for us to grow our business. We have a new booth design at this year’s show to promote the new image of AQUEEN and showcase our new items. Buyers’ responses have been very positive about the new image. Buyers not only from Mainland China but also from the Middle East and Southeast Asia have made serious enquiries about our products. We have received onsite orders from both new and existing customers.”
