| The HKTDC Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo returns in its third edition from 26-29 October at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE). The 20th HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) opens today and runs until 30 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The twin lighting fairs present the world’s largest lighting marketplace, offering a wide variety of smart and outdoor lighting products for buyers across the world. A complimentary shuttle bus service between the HKCEC and AWE is provided during the fair period to maximise sourcing opportunities for buyers. |

 “Headquartered in Hong Kong, China Sign (Group) Ltd has been doing businesses on outdoor logos, luminous characters and signboards under its namesake label in the Chinese mainland for more than 30 years and in Hong Kong for 5 years. Our designs can be found in many well-known real estate properties, international hotels and famous stadiums. In the past, we got our clients through referrals from contractors and architectural firms. As the largest player of bespoke illuminated signage in the mainland, we are ready to explore overseas opportunities through Hong Kong which is a platform for us to reach the international market. Having been the visitor at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo (IOTLE) over past few years, I followed on the sideline to witness the growth of the event in terms of size and number of attendance. So, we are on the exhibitors' list this year. Just in the morning session on the inaugural day, two groups of VIP buyers and a group of media representatives have come to visit us, offering us a chance to introduce our company. Besides, there are many walk-in visitors from Beijing, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the US. Some buyers from Dubai who knew us before the exhibition also come to visit us for negotiating the possibilities of forming joint ventures with them. Emerging countries are full of business opportunities, as there are many construction projects on the way or in the pipeline. Asian buyers from Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand are our primary targets, but we are also confident to work for the European and US partners.”

 “Headquartered in Hangzhou of the Chinese mainland, Fonda Technology Co.,Ltd. is known in the worldwide market for its complete solutions for smart cities and IoT (the Internet of Things). I came very early this morning through the mega bridge from Zhuhai. It just took me 90 minutes to get here. It was our company's great honour to be one of the providers of lighting control systems for the mega bridge. Four years on, Fonda has successfully built its brand name and shown its strength at the World of Outdoor Lighting and Lighting Accessories (WOLLA) and at the last two editions of HKTDC Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo (IOTLE). Therefore, we manage to get a booth at the concurrent HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) in Wan Chai which is fully packed with both exhibitors and visitors. We are glad to be here for four straight years and to be there for the first time. In retrospect, we had concluded many contracts of pilot schemes at the fairground which eventually turned into real projects after the testing, such as, the project in Yinchuan which is the mainland's top three smart city project. Another two projects are in Melbourne of Australia and Brazil. Fonda is also the biggest smart system solution provider in Indonesia, where we work on many projects for the Belt & Road Initiative. Some of the pilot scheme contracts for the Indonesian projects were signed at the IOTLE. This year, we introduce the Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) to the industry which is an emerging communication system based on the cellular network. We are happy that our solutions are featured in the event's media conference and I feel exciting to be one of the speakers for the seminar.”

 “We have been running the wholesales business in Vietnam for eight years. Not only we sell products of our own products, but also distribute other branded products. Our clientele include(s) construction companies, contractors and architectural design firms. This has been my third visit to both HKTDC Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo (IOTLE) and the concurrent HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition). I have always been impressed with the scale of the International Lighting Fair, and satisfied with the presence of new suppliers at the IOTLE. Garden, landscape and street lighting are on my souring list, as many construction projects of real estate properties are underway in my country. Quality comes first to me. Last year, I met with a high-end supplier of outdoor wall lighting from Ningbo at the IOTLE and had placed an order with them after the Expo. This year, I meet with a good supplier of high bay lighting and factory lighting from Shenzhen. I think I may place an order with it soon. Besides, three meetings with exhibitors were arranged in the first morning via the HKTDC business matching service. Two of them are really my target suppliers. One of them offers solar panels with good design and the other one manufactures garden lighting. I am happy to get to know new suppliers and will definitely come back next year.”

 “As a trading firm in Oman, Delight Lighting LLC runs three lines of business: operating a showroom in the capital for retail customers, building a distribution network for wholesales and working on some commercial, residential and industrial projects with contractors and architectural firms. Our company owns two in-house brands, namely Lezio for all indoor and outdoor lighting solutions, and Hapton for lighting accessories and switches. As Oman is the second largest country in the Gulf, cities are far away from each other. Our government spends a lot of money on constructing roads and highways nationwide, driving the huge demand for street lighting. So, we need to do sourcing here. This is my second visit to HKTDC Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo (IOTLE) where I can speak directly to representatives of manufacturers instead of negotiating through any agency. At the IOTLE, I am glad to spot some new design of LED components and LED drivers, which enable brighter illumination, wider range coverage and lower energy consumption. I plan to order some samples at the fairground once the right products are identified.”
