 “Established in 2007, our company is a specialist manufacturer of plastic products. We launched our own brand – KIGI last October which encourages people to waste less. We are showcasing a series of new products under the KIGI brand at the Hong Kong Houseware Fair. We are taking this opportunity to promote our new brand, collect feedback from buyers and look for distributors and agents from Europe and the US. The four app-enabled products under the KIGI brand include SmartTrack food storage containers, plastic pill boxes with pill-taking reminder, storage boxes and bags made from oxford fabric, and corrugated paper storage boxes. For the latter two storage boxes, our KIGI app can help users to locate their boxes. As consumers in these regions are more environmentally-conscious and health-conscious, we believe that they’ll like our products.  HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair begins with an exciting first day.
Some 2,200 global exhibitors including 26 different countries & regions offer a global view of the innovation, cutting-edge technology and on-trend designs for the houseware sector. The fair offers a unique opportunity for buyers and distributors to source the very latest product ranges, with almost every exhibitor attending with brand new designs that are yet to hit the market – something HKTDC fairs are famous for. Combined with the Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair, exhibitors are positioned to use the show-floor to strengthen distribution networks too.
The Fairs highlight four themes: Primitive Future, Hyper Room, Playful Plush and Harmony Lab. World-renowned trend forecasting agency WGSN has partnered with HKTDC to highlight these core interior and lifestyle trends for SS2020, including a well-attended presentation by WGSN’s trend analyst, Charlie Clark, plus visual concept areas located outside Hall 3.
With products being the focus, a notable theme for 2019 is the volume of eco-friendly, reusable products, following the heightened global awareness for conscious consumerism. Many suppliers now feel compelled to be a part of this trend-change. Andrew O’Neill, managing director of DNC which owns popular brands such as Polar Gear told Progressive Housewares, “A lot of what we do follows the demand for eco-friendly, reusable products, combined with consumer-focused areas such as the current awareness in hydration for health.”

 “Decomotive is an importer and wholesaler of small furniture, decorative items, houseware products, kitchenware and bathroom accessories in Russia. I have been to the Hong Kong Houseware Fair for three to four times. At this year’s fair, I am looking for a wide range of household products and fabrics. I have found three potential suppliers of storage products, carpets and photo frames through the HKTDC’s business matching meetings. Before these meetings, I have talked to 20 potential suppliers of bathroom accessories and storage products mainly from Mainland China. During the fair period, I’ll place trial orders with different suppliers for bathroom accessories, home decorations and kitchenware worth US$40,000. The fair provides a good opportunity to source quality products from international suppliers and to understand the market trends.”

I am looking for fragrance, cosmetics and household products at the Hong Kong Houseware Fair. With the help from the HKTDC’s business matching team, I have identified two potential suppliers from Taiwan and Korea. The Taiwanese exhibitor offers a wide range of fragrance products while the Korean exhibitor provides high-quality cosmetic products such as moisturisers, facial masks and cream. I plan to buy US$5,000-10,000 worth of fragrance products from the Taiwanese exhibitor and US$3,000-5,000 worth of cosmetic products from the Korean exhibitor. In addition, I have found new suppliers of disposable cotton wool, pads and stick.”

 “Comercial Nevada is a medium-sized supplier of home textiles products in Argentina. We import mainly from Mainland China. Our products are currently sold to hotels, retail shops and supermarkets. We also operate two retail shops. I am visiting the Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair for the first time to source some HORECA products and other items including bed linens, quilts, pillows and towels. So far, I’ve found a new towel supplier from Mainland China. I would like to find more suppliers before the fair comes to a close. My company is now expanding into non-textile products.
