“3NY is a speciality store in the US, selling unusual designer collections which attract celebrities and consumers to buy our products. This is our first time visiting Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter. We are very interested in designer labels which provide unique designs. Fur coats, down coats and outer wear are the best sellers in our store. We have already bought all these items and jewellery from 20 designers from Hong Kong, Korea and Mainland China at the fair. Our purchasing quantity is 5-10 pieces per designer, with the purchasing amount ranging from US$3,000 to US$8,000. The fair provides the perfect platform for us to source unique designer collections. Our sales turnover increased by 5% last year and we expect a 15% increase this year because more and more consumers come to our shop to buy unusual designer collections.”

“With two factories and 170 stores in Thailand, Central Marketing Group is a distributor of four licensed brands and four own brands. We usually source our products through buying agents in Thailand. As we want to increase our price competitiveness, we are keen to source more directly from Mainland China. People in Thailand like casual wear with basic style and good quality. I have come here for the first time to look for denim wear, underwear and shoes. I have found two potential suppliers including one from Bangladesh for the supply of denim shirts and casual T-shirts and the other from Hong Kong for the supply of T-shirts. I plan to buy 1,500 pieces per style from each supplier. I’ll talk to suppliers of underwear and shoes later and hope to find some potential suppliers.”

“Garments represent 10-20% of the transaction volume of our e-commerce platform and most of our garment customers are females. I have come to Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter for the first time to look for new products and suppliers which are interested in developing the markets in Australia and New Zealand. The fair also gives me a good opportunity to learn more about the latest trends. In our markets, consumers like fitness wear and activewear because they like outdoor activities. I am particularly interested in two OEM manufacturers from Mainland China which produce swimwear and sportswear. I’ll recommend these two suppliers to importers and distributors which are selling products via eBay. I’ll provide data such as market potential, pricing and sales forecast so that these two suppliers can become business partners of our importers and distributors.”

“Launched 20 years ago, Lakbi is a premium brand for women’s wear and men’s wear. Our factory is located in Brest, a production base for the fashion industry in Belarus. We operate 20 shops in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. This is my first time visiting the Hong Kong fair. I am looking for fabrics, garment accessories and fashion accessories, as well as cashmere garments and fur garments that we do not produce. I have found four potential suppliers from Hong Kong and Korea for the supply of cashmere garments, fur garments, ribbons, stickers, buttons and zippers. I’ll get more information from them. Normally, our first order is 100 pieces per style. I also like the designs created by six fashion designers from Indonesia and I’ll consider co-operating with them. I love the Hong Kong fair because it is very interesting and I can find good suppliers.”

“Launched in 1999, Trasluz is a famous Spanish brand for high-quality casual wear for kids and has 25 stores. This is my first-time visit to Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter. I am looking for kids’ wear, hats and shoes. So far, I have found three to four potential suppliers from Mainland China which can provide high-quality kids’ wear at good prices. It is likely that I’ll buy from them, but I need to check their prices and also ask them to develop samples based on our specifications and designs. I plan to buy 300-500 pieces per model. I like the Hong Kong fair very much because suppliers here can provide better quality and designs. I want to come back again next year.”

“Founded 30 years ago, our company launched our Willsoor brand 15 years ago. Currently, we operate 30 shops in shopping malls in Poland and run an online store, selling Willsoor-branded men’s shirts and women’s clothing. This is my first-time visit to Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter. Our shirts are made by professional tailors in Poland using fabrics from Austria and the Czech Republic. At the Hong Kong fair, I am looking for women’s clothing. So far, I have found four potential suppliers of sweaters, T-shirts, polo shirts and cashmere garments. I have already placed an onsite order for US$10,000 worth of women’s sweaters offered by a supplier from Mainland China. For the other three potential suppliers, I am still waiting for their quotations. I like to come back next year because the fair gathers many suppliers all under one roof which can provide nice designs and good quality.”

“I launched my own designer brand in 1998. My main markets include Australia, the Middle East and the US. Starting from 2004, I have been participating in Hong Kong Fashion Week twice a year. At this year’s Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter, I am showcasing my three different brands including Ali Charisma Black for street wear, Ali Charisma Blue for evening wear and Ali Charisma Homme for men’s daily wear. I have met with two to three retailers from Indonesia who are very interested in buying my products. I have also talked to new buyers from Morocco and the US. I hope to find at least five good buyers and get their orders through the fair. Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter is an important fashion event in Asia, so I encourage Indonesia’s young designers to come here and let international buyers to see and feel their designs.”

“Launched two years ago, Fit Joy is a Japanese brand for super lightweight ladies’ shoes. Made of elastic sheep skin, Fit Joy shoes wrap your feet like socks. Our shoes which are comfortable and fashionable can meet the needs and tastes of middle-aged women and elderly women. Our products are widely sold in department stores in Japan. After exhibiting at last year’s Fashion Week for Spring/Summer for the first time, we have our first exhibition at this year’s Fashion Week for Fall/Winter to further promote our brand, look for new buyers and develop overseas markets. With the help of business partners, our shoes entered the markets in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan last year. As the world’s ageing population continues to grow, we see a lot of potential for Fit Joy shoes.”

“In business for more than 30 years, our company is a specialist manufacturer of evening dresses in Chaozhou city, Guangdong Province. We have been participating in Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter for more than 10 years. It is a good place for us to find new buyers, showcase our new designs, expand our clientele base and assess the latest fashion trends. At this year’s fair, we have talked to new buyers from Australia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and the US who like the designs and workmanship of our evening dresses. A new buyer from Saudi Arabia has confirmed to buy five styles and 20-30 pieces per style while a new buyer from Australia has placed an order for four styles and 10 pieces per style. Some of our existing customers will visit our factory after the fair as they want to see more samples and then place orders.”

“Our company is the distributor of Fidlock magnetic fasteners in Asia, Hong Kong and Mainland China. Designed and engineered in Germany, Fidlock magnetic fasteners use mechanical system to enhance magnetic closure. We got several new orders through last year’s Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter. That’s why we have returned to the fair for the second consecutive year. We want to let buyers know that our magnetic fasteners can be applied not only to outdoor products and equipment but also to a range of fashion accessories such as backpacks, belts, hangers and caps, as well as clothes. At this year’s fair, we have been busy answering buyers’ enquiries and we have got in touch with new buyers from Hong Kong, Japan, Mainland China, Malaysia and Thailand. We expect orders to come after the fair.”

“MsEnvy specialises in the design and production of silk garments. At this year’s Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter, we are showcasing a new collection of printed silk long dresses and tweed jackets. Actually, printed silk long dresses are hot items in many markets. Five buyers from Russia, Spain and Turkey have picked some of our designs for printed silk long dresses and asked us to develop samples for them while a buyer from the UK will send us their designs for the development of samples. For tweed jackets, a Russian buyer has requested us to send our existing designs to him. In addition, a new Hong Kong buyer from a scarves retail chain has placed an onsite order for our one-piece skirts and printed tops and the order size is 40-50 pieces per style. The fair helps us to find new buyers and diversify into different markets. We are satisfied with the results so far.”

“A group of eight designers including me who are graduates of a fashion school in Indonesia won design awards in a local fashion design competition and got this good opportunity to take part in this year’s Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter. We are showcasing ready-to-wear clothing for men and women under eight designer labels, namely Amelya Tansades, Asuta, Meiritone, Raegitazoro, Raina, Tin, Todae and Wildan Affitrah. Our designs have attracted a lot of attention from buyers. New buyers from India, Mainland China, the Philippines and the US find Indonesian fashion designs very interesting. This is our first fashion exhibition outside Indonesia. It has been an eye-opening experience for young designers like us. It also provides a valuable opportunity to get feedback from international buyers.”

Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter joins with Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer and CENTRESTAGE, to give fashion buyers complete coverage of the year’s offerings by leading designers and manufacturers. Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer is a complementary seasonal fair held in July while CENTRESTAGE, which will be held in September, throws the spotlight on international and regional brands, ready-to-wear and designer labels with a special focus on Asia.
