 “The Hong Kong Toys and Baby Products Awards not only encourage manufacturers to promote their creativity and innovation, but also help develop Hong Kong as a creativity hub for toys and baby products. I am honoured to be one of the judges for this year’s competition. Among the toys entries, I like STREAM toys that can provide edutainment to children and encourage their brain development. For the baby products category, I am very interested in a Growth Check Changing Pad which looks like a traditional changing pad, but it can manage the weight and height measurement of an infant with a mobile App. This product allows parents to take care of infants with ease. Design is for cost, quality, manufacturing and customers. It is important for manufacturers to know that consumers give priority to product safety, quality and the use of environmentally friendly materials.”

 “The Hong Kong Toys and Baby Products Awards recognise the contribution of the winning exhibitors. This is a very good competition which allows market players to see innovative toys and baby products. Toys contestants have put a lot of efforts into making creative products and their creativity is also reflected in terms of shapes and colours. I am interested in toys and games operated via mobile Apps and Bluetooth which can offer children an inspiring learning experience. When it comes to baby products, functionality, practicality and quality are the key factors affecting parents’ buying decisions. One of the impressive entries is a wireless armpit thermometer with fever alert which can also measure baby room temperature. Another good design is a Growth Check Changing Pad which can monitor the weight and height of an infant.”

 “This competition provides an important platform for exhibitors to introduce their innovative products to international buyers. For the toys category, contestants have shown a high level of creativity in their entries with more value-added elements. Among the entries, there are more educational toys such as STREAM toys and AR toys with interactive features. I am particularly interested in a remote-controlled ice-cream car and a DJ mixer. For the baby products category, there are many new designs in this year’s competition. One of the interesting entries is a foldable and light-weight bath tub which is very suitable for the Hong Kong market due to limited bathroom space. Regarding market trends, smart toys are very popular. For baby products, parents are more concerned about the functionality and the use of eco-friendly materials.”
