Hot Picks by Media Experts |
“Scott Wen from Mirage told The Office Times that the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair is the best event of the year. One of the reasons is that it sets the tone for coming months and gives him a fairly accurate idea of what sales he can expect for the rest of the year.
Another interesting visit was to O-Star Global’s booth. As a first-time exhibitor, Mr Hyun Kyu PARK explained that having manufactured moulds for pens for the past 40 years, the company decided last year to manufacture its own writing instruments. These include a highlighter that doesn’t require a cap thanks to a newly developed ink that doesn’t dry out.
After talking to various different manufacturers on the first day of the fair, the trends in the stationery market this year seem to be earth-friendly and practical with increased demand for finer finished products.”
Mr Collin Ball, The Office Times, France |
“We are an online retailer from the UAE that specialises in office supplies. By the end of this year we will also launch a retail store. This is our first time visiting the fair and we are looking for suppliers of general stationery and office supply products. At the moment we source products locally, but by coming to the show, we can find a wider range of suppliers from outside of our region. So far we have met with around 20 suppliers from around the world, and we are very interested in building relationships with two of them after the show. One is from Korea and the other is from Mainland China. The show is certainly a good gateway to find suppliers from around the world.”
Mr Ahmed Salah, Operation Manager, Quick Office, UAE |
“I have been visiting the fair since 2004. We are a merchandiser based in Germany, and stationery is an important part of our portfolio. At this edition, there are a lot of products that I am interested in such as stylish notebooks, paper products and re-usable bags that are made from paper. The standard of exhibitors is high, and the suppliers here are focused on quality. There are a lot of international companies here and I have also been able to connect with many suppliers from Mainland China. I have exchanged business cards with them and I will contact them after the show to explore business opportunities. The fair is a great place to network, collect samples, and compare many different products under one roof. I will definitely return again next year. I attended the 'Digital Marketing: Innovation Key to Success' seminar. The seminar was very informative with many practical tips. It also provides companies with many ideas on how to deploy low cost marketing campaigns. ”

“Our brand is nearly 84 years old and we pride ourselves on the quality of our products. We are exhibiting at the fair for the first time to find distributors and promote our premium labelling products and design suite. The suite allows customers to design and print their own labels, including QR codes and barcodes. We are already a well know brand, but the fair allows us to gain even more exposure to international markets. The visitor flow has been steady, and so far we have met around 40 useful contacts from all over the world, including Russia, Singapore, Panama and Hong Kong.”
Mr Justin Seabrook, Channel Manager - Commercial & Export, Avery Products, Australia |
“Based in Mainland China, our company specialises in designing bookmarks, postcards, and gift stationery that are unique and have a human touch. This is our first time exhibiting here as we see the fair as a gateway to the Asian market, including Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. We are delighted to have exchanged business contacts with around 100 prospective buyers and distributers, and it’s even more encouraging to have secured deals with the National Museum of China as well as up and coming bookshops from Taiwan.”
Ms Dan Shen, Project Leader, Sozen Design, Mainland China |
“We are a recipient of the Hong Kong Top Brand award and we are well established in the industry with our range of quality colour pencils, office stationery and tape. By joining the Pen & Paper Zone and the ‘One Moment in Time’ theme display, we can increase our brand exposure and enhance the prestige of our products. Even though it's only the second day of the show, we are pleased to have already contacted 30+ quality buyers from around Asia, including some from Mainland China, Korea, Malaysia and Vietnam, which might help us to expand our distribution network in the region.”
Mr Joe Wong, Director, Wah Hing Office Supplies Group Ltd, Hong Kong |
