A Captivating Showcase of Stylish Garments, Vibrant Brands and Designer Collections |
 |
The HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter opened yesterday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over the course of its illustrious five-decade history, this fair has grown to be the largest event of its kind in Asia. This year’s event is a worthy celebration, presenting some 1,400 exhibitors to showcase our “All-in-One” platform for the fashion business, where you can find all fashion and garment trade needs from upstream services and supplies to fabrics and yarns and finished garments and accessories. The garments at the fair cover all segments of the industry from basic apparel and ready-to-wear through to design labels.
Connections between exhibitors and buyers are strengthened through the HKTDC Marketplace APP. A great feature is the e-Business Card which allows you to link up with new contacts in real time. Hashtag, note-taking and photo-taking functions help you manage your contact list, simply created by scanning the contact’s QR code. Other features include DIY Photo Upload, Small Orders Management and Message Centre. Download the HKTDC Marketplace APP now! |

“Our company operates 15 department stores and 5 outlets in Korea, selling different kinds of consumer goods. This is my first time visiting Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter. Colourful, high-quality and comfortable kids’ wear made from organic cotton is popular in the Korean market, so I hope to find this kind of kids’ wear at the fair. I am very interested in a Japanese shoemaker and Bohemian-style clothing for women. We usually import garments through our buying agents in Korea. For each new order, we’ll buy 10,000 pieces. This is just the first day of the fair, so I am sure I can find more potential suppliers of kids’ wear in the next three days. I also find the fashion shows very interesting and inspiring as they are presented in the format of short movies. The QR codes displayed at the booths facilitate buyers to find related information about exhibitors.”

“Established in 1990, Lucy House is a boutique in Indonesia, carrying designer brands for women’s clothing and accessories. For daily clothing, women in Indonesia like sophisticated styles, nice cutting and good fabrics. I have visited Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter for many times. At this year’s fair, I am looking for unique clothes, handbags and accessories as well as suppliers who can accept small quantities. I like handmade brooches from a Thai supplier very much because of fine craftsmanship and unique designs. I have already placed an onsite order for 72 pieces. I am waiting for this supplier to send more samples to my office and I am going to buy more after checking their samples.”

“Established in 2006, our company is a trading company, agent, distributor and wholesaler of Japanese-made ladies’ shoes. We have built strong partnerships with many leading shoemakers in Japan. Japan is our market and we also sell to Singapore and Vietnam. This is our first-ever exhibition at Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter. As it is the largest fashion event in Asia, we are keen to look for new distributors and buyers and develop the Asian market through the fair. We see a lot of potential for our shoes in the Asian market because the sizes of our shoes fit Asian ladies. We are promoting a new collection which is made of a stretchy material to enable painless and stress-free walking. We have met with new buyers from Indonesia, Japan and Mainland China who have made serious enquiries about our shoes.”

“In business for more than 40 years, our company specialises in the design and production of wool coats, fur garments, down coats, leather garments, fur scarves and fur accessories. We are a long-term supporter of Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter and Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer. For the former, we have been participating for more than 30 years because we can get new buyers through the fair every year. Our products are now sold to different parts of the world. As Asia’s largest fashion event, the fair provides an important platform for us to introduce our new designs to international buyers. We have just talked to a potential buyer from the UK who is very interested in our fur hats and fur scarves. At this year’s fair, we hope to find more new buyers from North Europe as our products can meet their tastes.”
Lena Cheung, Director, Lius Brother Garment Factory Ltd., Hong Kong |
