 “Aurai water-propelled eye massager with cool and warm compress is jointly developed by our teams in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Unlike traditional eye massagers, our water-propelled eye massager makes users feel more comfortable and won’t make their eyes dry. It can also improve their sleeping quality. We have our first exhibition at this year’s Autumn Electronics Fair to look for new distributors. Up till now, we have met with more than 30 new buyers from Canada, France, Japan, Korea, Thailand and the US who have tried this new product. About six to seven buyers have bought samples from us. Startups usually have limited marketing budget. The media breakfast meeting organised by the HKTDC provides a good chance for startups like our company to introduce new products to overseas trade journalists. We are satisfied with the fair’s results.”

 “We launched our Serafim brand in 2015. We are exhibiting in the Startup zone at the Autumn Electronics Fair for the first time to introduce Serafim Keybo to international buyers. Serafim Keybo is the world’s first virtual laser projection keyboard that can be transformed into a virtual piano, multilingual keyboard or portable charger in just one second and lasts for 10 hours. As digital entertainment is getting very popular, many buyers are interested in Serafim Keybo. We have met with new buyers from the Chinese mainland, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Russia and Southeast Asia. About five to six buyers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Korea, the Philippines and Thailand have confirmed to buy a total of 5,000 sets. The fair’s business results have been encouraging. In addition, we are happy to have the chance to talk to four trade journalists at the media breakfast meeting organised by the HKTDC, helping us to promote our brand in the overseas markets.”

 “Product failures are expensive, if not disastrous. Intelligent inspection systems designed to find defects automatically and efficiently are today an integral part of the manufacturing process. Humans are not ideal for high quality mass inspection of electronics production as we will easily get bored and are prone to make mistakes. Machine vision comes in to replace human vision to enable fast and reliable inspection based on deterministic algorithms and programmed applications. With automated optical inspection, we can collect images under controlled conditions and extract relevant image information subjected to defined criteria. It helps to avoid human slip and allows for adaption to changes of production in a controlled way. Human interaction is minimised and only necessary for troubleshooting. Overall productivity will be raised eventually. Designed to fit test-gates in the manufacturing process, highly connected and intelligent inspection systems will enable autonomous factories while enhancing the reliability and functional safety of electronics systems.”

I am pleased to share with you here how Industry 4.0 can improve product reliability in different aspects.
