I like the mixture of worldwide trends and traditional local products. For me, it’s important to export some foreign inspirations back tat home. I also like the trend presentations to set an overview about what’s going on regarding global lifestyle and its emotional context - and the growing significance of sustainability – plus the combination of recycling and style.

“Launched in April 2017, our NEO face masks protect users from air pollution and airborne bacteria and they are all made in New Zealand. Made from sheep wool, the filter of each NEO face mask provides superior filtration and yet it is highly breathable. Our masks come with fashionable designs created by a New Zealand designer Karen Walker. We are showcasing NEO face masks at the Hong Kong Houseware Fair for the first time, hoping to attract buyers from Southeast Asia. We are happy to have received positive feedback from buyers from different countries and regions such as Canada, the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and the UK, and they asked us about the payment terms. We are very satisfied with the fair and we’ll be back next year.”
Jun Kim, Senior Marketing Manager, Healthy Breath Limited, New Zealand

“Established seven years ago, Innoview has obtained the licence to produce power tools under the Swiss Military brand. Designed for home use, our power tools include drills, brushes and polishing pad sets. Since our tools are slim and light, it is also easy for women to use. Currently, Asia is our major market. This is our first time exhibiting in the World of Building & Hardware to promote Swiss Military’s power tools to international buyers and to develop new markets. We are happy to be here because we have got in touch with new buyers from Australia, Europe, South America and the US. We’ll continue our negotiations with them after the fair.”
Jae-Heon Jeon, Owner, Innoview Co Ltd, Korea

“With 35 years of experience in the design and production of houseware, kitchenware and baby products, I set up my own company two years ago to provide design consultancy services to SMEs, helping them to develop innovative houseware products by using modern technologies. This is my first-time participation in the Startup Zone to promote my design consultancy services. I am showcasing more than 10 patented products developed by myself for my previous employers as well as my new technologies and new products such as heating fabrics, 4-in-1 nano fabrics, auto-jet pump brushes and vacuum suction pumps. We have received serious enquiries from many buyers including those from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan and the US. Four buyers from Australia, Hong Kong and the US have expressed great interest in buying our auto-jet pump brushes and vacuum suction pumps. In view of favourable responses from buyers, I have decided to return to the Startup Zone next year.”

“Danube Home is a retailer of home furnishing products which operates 18 stores in GCC countries and has five franchise stores in Africa. This is my second time visiting the Hong Kong Houseware Fair. Our customers like houseware products which are made in different countries and regions and the fair provides the best chance for me to source unique products from different places. The fairground is also organised into different product zones which make sourcing easier. I have found five to six potential suppliers from the Chinese mainland, Japan and Thailand for the supply of tableware made from recycled plastic, ceramic tableware, kitchen gadgets and cutlery. At the fair, I have also finalised orders with four exhibitors for US$250,000 worth of cookware, glassware, cutlery and kitchenware. It’s a rewarding visit. I would like to visit the fair again next year.”
Zubair Ahmed, Buyer, Danube Home, UAE

“Sucre Royal is an importer, wholesaler and retailer of household products and HORECA products under our Cote Table brand in Russia. Currently, we operate seven retail outlets and 16 corners in department stores. We usually buy products from European companies. This is my first time visiting the Hong Kong Houseware Fair because I am keen to source directly from manufacturers who have their own factories on the Chinese mainland and can offer medium to high-quality products at good prices. Up till now, I have found three potential suppliers from Bangladesh, the Chinese mainland and the Philippines for the supply of rattan products, glassware and ceramic tableware. I’ll buy one 20-foot container of assorted products from each new supplier. I am also interested in the Startup Zone where I have seen a lot of new products, interesting designs and innovative ideas. I’ll consider buying a mini electronic bicycle from one of the exhibitors in this zone because this new design allows the user to put the bicycle in a car.”
Ivan Belousov, Owner, Sucre Royal, Russia

“HOK SPRL designs and produces a wide range of home furnishings items with beautiful digital prints under our brand ACHOKA for customers across the globe. We also provide OEM service based on customers’ designs. Products range from kids’ playmates to home décor, door mats, cushions, rugs and outdoor items. We have been participating in Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair for several years to expand business. Among this year’s exhibition highlights are snuggles and Indian tepee tent collection that have attracted a lot of buyers’ interest. We’ve met with a number of new customers from different places such as Germany, France, Norway, Korea, Japan, Australia, Europe, USA, Argentina and Brazil. We expect 30% of the new buyers including a 350-store retailer from Australia, a 250-store retailer from USA and a 100-store from Brazil will place orders eventually. Some existing customers like two retailers from Italy and UAE also came and placed orders for new collections at the fair. This is really a good fair. We’re happy with the results.”

“In business for over 20 years, Nantong Xinjiyuan is a leading manufacturer of hotel-related textiles in the Chinese mainland. We offer a great variety of products from bedding sets, to pillows, towels, bathrobes and curtains for hotels locally and internationally. Export sales account for about one third of our business. We are participating in Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair for the second consecutive year. The response is even better than last year. We’ve received strong enquiries from many serious buyers including customers from Thailand, Korea, Japan, Singapore and the Philippines. A Korean retailer is planning to place an order while a Thai hotel operator is also keen to purchase our items. Last year, we secured four new customers from Hong Kong, Indonesia and Uruguay. We expect to conclude deals with even more buyers this time. This is an excellent fair to find new customers and increase our export sales.”

“With 24 years of experience in home textiles business, Angads Fashion is a wholesaler of bedding products in Australia. We are now extending our business to bedding for hotels. Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair provides a great platform to find new suppliers. We are looking for suppliers with their own production facilities to ensure a reliable delivery of quality products. So far, we’ve found a Chinese mainland supplier specialising in the provision of hotel-related textiles. Their product variety is impressive and we expect to conclude business with them. They will send us the pricing details and samples of bedding sets while we get customers’ feedback. Initial order is expected to be at least US$25,000. The fair’s service has been wonderful. We’re especially with the guided service that enabled efficient exchanges with exhibitors. That really makes it easier for us and we can make better business decisions accordingly.”

“Somphol is a leading manufacturing of bedding and mattress products in Thailand. We have been in business for over 30 years distributing our collections under the brand of Springmate. Besides household consumers, we supply products to hotels. Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair offers some good choices. We’ve already found three China mainland suppliers of bed linens, covers and blankets. Samples will be tested for their quality and it is expected to take about three months to finalise business development. We are looking to place trial orders of around US$6,000 each if everything goes smoothly. Normal orders will be in the size of about US$30,000 each. This is a good fair while staff has been very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the visit.”
