“The Hong Kong Smart Design Awards, this year entering its seventh edition, aims to develop design talents and to strengthen Hong Kong’s status as a sourcing hub for creative designs. As attractive packaging is vital to increasing sales, a new award ‘Outstanding Packaging’ has been added to this year’s competition to encourage the use of creative packaging designs. There are more than 300 contestants including companies and individuals joining the competition. We are happy to see that 50 per cent of the contestants are first-time participants. The competition really helps award winners to build a successful business, so it attracts more and more contestants. To promote the strength of Hong Kong designs, winning pieces from the Hong Kong Smart Design Awards are being displayed in the ‘Smart Design Village’ at the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair and will also be showcased at other international trade fairs in Germany and Japan. In addition to the ‘Smart Design Village’, we have set up three other zones, namely ‘Isle of Originality’, ‘Brand Oasis’ and ‘Trendy Gifts’ to show quality gifts and premium from Hong Kong companies to international buyers.”

“The Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair is a one-stop platform to observe the latest trends in the industry. While the majority of companies are trying to technologise and digitalise their products, Leuchtturm Gruppe is betting on traditions; Minimalism, high-quality stationery and charming stories are their key selling points.”

“This is my first visit to the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair. The pixel games design conept of the fair is very stylish and joyful. Pixel games signify the very beginning of electronic and digital age, at that time it was impossible to imagine USB flashlights, bluetooth speakers and other smart gadgets will triumphantly occupy exhibition stands. The fair presents the ongoing digitalised trends in gifting and provides a playful and resourceful journey for buyers. Products such as Smart Writing Set by Moleskine, tools made of chocolate by the Amazing Chocolate Workshop and Herb & Fish by Arky Design Co., Ltd. - all embed either tech or playful ideas.”

“Known as the ‘Ceramic Capital of China’, Jingdezhen has a long history of producing ceramic products. Since the Tang Dynasty, Jingdezhen’s ceramic products have been exported to international markets. This is the third time that we have organised the Jingdezhen Pavilion at the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair. This year a total of 14 companies from Jingdezhen are showcasing a wide range of high-quality ceramic products such as tableware, tea sets, decorative items, art pieces and fashion accessories. The fair provides an ideal platform to promote Jingdezhen’s ceramic culture and to enhance communication between buyers and sellers. Jingdezhen’s ceramic products have attracted buyers from all over the world. We hope that our delegates will connect with more buyers and receive more orders at this year’s fair.”

“Our company owns four brands, namely Nextorch for flashlights, Nextool for creative tools, Tekut for pocket knives and Kitchendao for kitchenware. Our products are exported to 100 countries and regions. This is our first-time participation in the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair. We are happy to be one of the exhibitors in the new zone — ‘World of Camping & Outdoor Goods’ because we want to look for gifts and premium buyers and to understand the market trends. We have met with new buyers from Asia, Europe, South America and North America who are very interested in our pocket lanterns, mini keychains with lights, tactical flashlights, multifunctional box openers and lightweight box openers. About 10 new buyers have already placed sample orders and we expect that many of them will confirm orders after checking our samples.”

“Giftwrap is among the top three suppliers of promotional corporate gifts in South Africa, serving 28,000 customers from different sectors. I visit the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair regularly because I can meet with a lot of suppliers and look for new products and new ideas. I also enjoy attending trend seminars which allow me to know what’s new in the market. At this year’s fair, I have found 20 potential suppliers of different promotional gifts. I have already placed onsite orders with four of my existing suppliers for US$3 million worth of pens, USBs, shopping bags, tote bags and coffee mugs. I plan to place an order with a new supplier from the Chinese mainland for US$200,000 worth of various promotional items after the fair. I like the World of Camping & Outdoor Goods because I have found some interesting items such as portable BBQ grills, outdoor umbrellas, picnic sets and beach mats which make the perfect promotional items.”

“Our company owns 40 fashion brands and has 1,500 stores in Korea. We’ll launch a new lifestyle brand at the end of this year. That’s why I have come to the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair for the first time to look for innovative products for our new brand. Up till now, I have found 40 potential suppliers for the supply of stationery, small IT gadgets, power banks, USB fans and umbrellas. I’ll talk to these potential suppliers and select the right suppliers. I plan to buy US$200,000 worth of umbrellas, stationery and small IT gadgets from new suppliers after the fair. Quality is very important to our new brand. The fair provides an ideal platform for me to see new products and check the product quality. I’ll come again next year.”
