“We do our best to empower and support_gift our SMEs to grow and be able to expand their market in foreign countries. Joining Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair is one of our activities this year. The 20 exhibitors here are Thai rising star SMEs. All of them are manufacturers. They design and make their own products with creative and original ideas. And we made sure that this year in “Thailand Pavilion” which is organised for the first time by OSMEP, everyone of them has some elements of Thai uniqueness in their product designs,” said Ingrucha. |
“Kanogwan Montiraj, Managing Director of Bitak Co., Ltd., is a proud SME entrepreneur who launches her new line of products for the first time in this fair. Her company export_gifts premium grade compressed cocopeat to South Korea for years. Cocopeat, a by-product from coconut, is used by gardeners as fert_giftile growing medium for plants (instead of soil). The new line of product, Plant Gift, has begun since last year. It is flower seeds in box and pot made from cocopeat wrapped with gift idea. You just put it on the table and water it each day to get a wonderful plant and flowers within days later. When the plant and flower wither, you can still utilize the cocopeat pot or box by sinking it in the soil so it becomes fert_giftilizer for the next plant. The feedbacks from visitors during the very first day of the fair was so good that she got requests for a factory visit from potential buyers from 5 countries including the Philippines, Japan, India, Malaysia and Europe."

“Another example of unique Thai products from plant is from DD Nature Craft Co., Ltd. Duangruthai Olive Pumipichet, Production Manager, brings the new line to the fair hoping to promote her HempThai brand. These are lifestyle products made from 100% organic hemp fibers. Hemp is economic plant mostly grown in the nort_gifth of Thailand. Her hemp products come in variety of bags, hats, shoes, scarves, shawls and dolls. And the newest products coming down the pipeline is hemp mattress or pillow for pet that has the odor-absorb_gifting quality. “We want to expand more in Asian markets so we are here. The feedbacks are good. We have talked and networked with new buyers from Europe and Asia (Japan & Hong Kong).”

| Hong Kong Smart_gift Design Awards |
The Hong Kong Smart_gift Design Awards, organised by The Hong Kong Export_gifters' Association, not only aims at cultivating creativity and accelerating innovations among design talents but also in motivating and encouraging more Hong Kong manufactures and export_gifters to upgrade and transform their business strategy to achieve the final goal of "Design x Strategy x Technology = Smart_gift Business". This year, the Awards attracted more than 300 entries and 90 entries were awarded at the Awards Presentation Ceremony held on 16 April.

 “This is the first time that we have part_gifticipated in the Hong Kong Smart_gift Design Awards organised by the Hong Kong Export_gifters’ Association (HKEA). We are surprised to have won the Merit Award and the Judge Award with Duplex (a pocket magnifier) and Rechargeable Rimless Magnifier respectively. We aim to change traditional magnifiers into stylish yet practical products not only for the elderly but also for hobbyists and educators. The competition helps to increase the recognition of our design capability and also enhances the exposure of our award-winning products at international trade fairs. We have displayed our award cert_giftificates at our booth at this year’s Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair and our winning designs are being showcased in the Smart_gift Design Village at the fair. As a result, many new buyers from Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US are attracted to our booth and they have made serious enquiries about our products.”

 “Founded in 2012, our company focuses on designing from geometrics. We have part_gifticipated in the Hong Kong Smart_gift Design Awards (HKSDA) for the third consecutive year. We are very happy to have won two Silver Awards in 2016, one Merit Award in 2017, and one Silver Award and one Judge Award in 2018. This year our winning product AppleDock/BalloonDock is a wall-mounted dock which doubles as a wall hook. The biggest benefit of being one of the winners is that the Hong Kong Export_gifters’ Association (HKEA) will promote all the winning designs in major trade fairs such as the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair. In addition, the HKEA will organise an overseas study tour for winners. After winning the HKSDA three times in a row, more people understand that our company pays great attention to design.  “Established in 2000, OSMEP support_gifts Thailand’s SMEs to find new customers in local and international markets. This is the first time that we have organised a pavilion at the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair because this fair enjoys a high reputation and provides a good opport_giftunity for Thailand’s SMEs to see many international buyers.  “We design and produce a wide range of gift items under our B.Duck brand. The Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair is the most import_giftant show to our company because many of our existing distributors visit our booth to discuss business development plans. We have been exhibiting in the Hall of Fine Designs at the fair for more than 10 years to promote our B.Duck brand, to showcase our latest products and to look for new distributors. Buyers are part_gifticularly interested in our coin banks and backpacks. We have got in touch with new buyers from Israel and the Middle East who are very likely to become our distributors.
